The First Snow of the Season
We got our first snowfall of the season yesterday. Jackson was soooooo excited! He was barely out of bed before he was asking for his boots and snow gear! We bundled him up and sent him and Kobi out into the great white wonderland. They had so much fun bouncing through the new snow! Later, Jackson and I went out back and had our first snowball fight of the season. He said, "Mommy, how about you stop throwing snowballs at me and I just throw them at you?" Hmmm... that seems a little unfair! : ) He also thought snowmen were fun to make, but even more fun to "BOOM!" BOOM = knocking the snowmen down as soon as we finished building them! He is such a boy!!
Jayda didn't make it out into the snow, but she enjoyed watching her brother and Kobi play through the sliding glass door. It was her entertainment for the day. She giggled with glee as her brother threw snowballs at her (hitting the glass not her!) What a silly girl!
Enjoy the snow!

Fall Fun-tivities
Shakopee, MN
Hastings, MN
We've had a great Fall exploring some new and old fall favorites. We went to Sever's Corn Maze in Shakopee in the beginning of October. Jackson had a blast running through the mini maze and jumping in the corn pool. It is literally a big pool filled with corn! It was a little weird for me, but so much fun for the kids! We also took some time and visited our favorite apple orchard, the Afton Apple Orchard by Hastings. Unfortunately, they were hit with hail early in the year, so they didn't have very many apples to buy. NO HONEY CRISPS - what a shame!! But, we still had fun climbing on the hay bales, feeding the animals, and take a hay ride into the orchard/pumpkin patch.
Tonight, we took the kids trick-or-treating for the first time. We've taken Jackson out before, but he had no idea what was going on. Last year, he had the swine flu so he was stuck home. This year, Jackson was Batman and boy was he ready to take on the neighborhood. Jayda was a cute little flower, but she didn't make it too far (just across the street to Bonnie's.) It was a little too cold out for her and I think Bonnie really wanted to keep her. : ) I hope that you had a fun Fall, as well. Take care and bundle up, I have a feeling we are in for a COLD Minnesota Winter! Brrrr!

Meeting Ellie
Our friends, Jason and Megan, had their first child this summer, Eleanor (Ellie). We finally got to meet Ellie a few weeks ago! She is a happy and sweet little girl. Her Dad lovingly calls her a "tick" because she drinks milk like crazy - and she has some pretty healthy little thighs. They (her chunky thighs) are so cute!! Paul's friend, Taylor, and his daughter, Zoe, came over, too. Jackson loved playing with Zoe. They played a little baseball and then had fun in the dogs' kennel. What little nuts!

Hello, again!
(we went here a lot this summer)
August 10, 2010
August 15, 2010
How is everyone? I'm sorry I haven't blogged for a long time. I guess I was too busy enjoying my summer with the kiddos! What a great summer! But like most good things, it has to come to an end. It's back to school time for me and back to Honey's for the kids.
In July, my Dad was hospitalized with a bleeding ulcer. I spend some time in Breckenridge with him. I'm happy to report that he has made an amazing recovery and is feeling better than ever now!
In August, we celebrated Jackson's third birthday! What?!? I can't believe I have a three year old. Jackson had a two week birthday celebration. It started out the week before his birthday when my sister and her girls came down to spend some time with us. It was a 72 hour marathon of kid-themed fun!! The zoo, swimming, MOA, and lots and lots of play time! On his actual birthday, we went to Chuck E. Cheese! Jackson loved all of the rides and games. Then, to wrap up all of the fun, Paul and I took him to his first Twins game. We had amazing seats, so Jackson could see all of the players up close and personal. Whew!!
I hope all of you had a great summer, too! Take care!
