How is everyone? I'm sorry I haven't blogged for a long time. I guess I was too busy enjoying my summer with the kiddos! What a great summer! But like most good things, it has to come to an end. It's back to school time for me and back to Honey's for the kids.

In July, my Dad was hospitalized with a bleeding ulcer. I spend some time in Breckenridge with him. I'm happy to report that he has made an amazing recovery and is feeling better than ever now!

In August, we celebrated Jackson's third birthday! What?!? I can't believe I have a three year old. Jackson had a two week birthday celebration. It started out the week before his birthday when my sister and her girls came down to spend some time with us. It was a 72 hour marathon of kid-themed fun!! The zoo, swimming, MOA, and lots and lots of play time! On his actual birthday, we went to Chuck E. Cheese! Jackson loved all of the rides and games. Then, to wrap up all of the fun, Paul and I took him to his first Twins game. We had amazing seats, so Jackson could see all of the players up close and personal. Whew!!

I hope all of you had a great summer, too! Take care!

It was my Grandma Ferne's 90th birthday on June 22nd. We celebrated her birthday over the 4th of July. My family all met at my Uncle David's house in Hillsboro, ND, to celebrate her big birthday! It was fun to see my aunts, uncles, and cousins again. We don't get together nearly enough. It was a beautiful day and a lot of fun for my Grandma. We love you, Grandma!

I love Star Lake!

This past week, the kids and I went to the lake to spend time with "Papa!" Jackson had been asking for WEEKS to go see Grandpa. Once I was finished with school, we were packed up and out the door! I love spending time at the lake and Jackson does too. Jayda... she's not so sure yet! Lots of new things to look at and strange sounds, it was a bit overwhelming for her at times. Despite our lack of sleep (at night and at naptime), a good time was had by all. We were able to spend some time visiting with old family friends, playing with "the cousins", going for a ride on Papa's pontoon, splashing around in the lake, and painting rocks for Father's Day! Busy, busy, busy! It was hard to say good-bye on Sunday, but we'll be back in a few weeks. It's hard to believe the fourth of July is only a few weeks away. Yikes!

A Beautiful Day at the Zoo with Bonnie

Jackson LOVES our neighbor, Bonnie, and today she went with us to the MN Zoo. Jackson was in heaven! He loved showing Bonnie around the Zoo and running! I wish I had half of the energy that he does! : ) On the way home, Jackson was busy singing and talking (to himself) about the Zoo. Suddenly, it got quiet... he was fast asleep! I would say that was another successful day at the Zoo!

Happy Memorial Day

We hope everyone had a safe and restful Memorial Day weekend! We spent the weekend at home. It felt good to get some projects done around the house. Maybe once school is out (nine days left!), we can get out to the lake and spend some time with my family. Bring on summer!

Planting "pretties"

It's been awhile since my last post. I went back to work and life just got significantly busier!! Wow! I can't believe how little free time I have now!

Anyway, since the snow has melted and it's gotten a little warmer out, Jackson has been a "mud magnet!" If there's an ounce of mud within a two block radius, Jackson has found it and stepped in it. He loves the flower beds! I love my flower beds too, so we were at a crossroads. After much thought, I decided to put his love of mud to good use. I bought a bunch of plants and had Jackson help me plant some flowers. Well... it worked out a lot better in my head. Jackson wasn't all that interested in planting the flowers. He did, however, love driving his trucks around the flowers. The flowers turned into "beautiful" road blocks. You gotta love two year olds! : )
